Coachmen Industries was a company established by brothers Claude, Keith, and Tom Corson. The first Coachmen recreational vehicles (RVs) were built in a plant measuring 5,000 sq ft, located in Middlebury, Indiana.
They could produce 80 truck caps, 1 truck camper, and 12 travel trailers during the first year of production. Today, there have been more than 700,000 Coachmen RVs built and sold.
Coachmen Industries eventually became known as Coachmen RV in December 2008. It also began operating as a brand owned by Forest River Inc.

The Coachmen Encore 355DS Motorhome has a wheelbase measuring 242”. Similar to the 325SS floorplan, its GVWR and GCWR is 22,000 lbs and 26,000 lbs, respectively. Also, the front and rear GAWR are 8,000 lbs and 15,000 lbs, respectively, which is also similar to the 325SS floorplan.
Its fuel capacity is also the same as the fuel capacity for the 325SS floorplan, at 80 gallons. Same with the freshwater tank capacity, which is 70 gallons. However, the gray and black water tanks’ capacity slightly differs by gallon, at 45 gallons.
The exterior length of the Coachmen Encore 355DS Motorhome measures 36’10”. Its exterior height measures 12’7”, while its exterior width measures 102”. In terms of the awning size, it measures 20’, which is wider than those available for the 325SS variant:

3. Coachmen Encore 375RB Specs
The Coachmen Encore 375RB Motorhome has a wheelbase measuring 242”. This is the same as the wheelbase of the 355DS variant.
Its GVWR measures 22,000 lbs, while its GCWR measures 26,000 lbs. At the same time, the front and rear GAWR measures 8,000 lbs and 15,000 lbs, respectively. In essence, these measurements are the same as the measurements for the 325SS and 355DS floor plans.
The fuel capacity for the 3-floor plans is all the same, at 80 gallons. Same with the freshwater tank capacity, which is 70 gallons. As for the gray water tank capacity of the 375RB variant, it is 91 gallons. At the same time, its black water tank capacity is 90 gallons.
